At the time of this update (6:30 p.m. 10/29) we are still at the bargaining table, advocating for our members, but wanted to give you an update about the employer’s proposal that we got today.
We urge ALL PECSH-MNA members to attend an urgent negotiations update/Bargaining Action Team meeting TOMORROW (Wednesday, Oct. 30) between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 at St. Luke Lutheran Church - Christ Campus (122 S Pennsylvania Ave.). Drop in anytime.
Considering today’s proposal, it’s all the more urgent that we get together, share information, and talk about next steps.
We negotiated yesterday and today and have scheduled sessions tomorrow and Thursday.
Today, one day before contract expiration, we received only the second economic proposal (a partial proposal) from the employer. The proposal includes:
• Significant concessions on healthcare including the termination of the guaranteed MNA PPO plan, increases in the cost of premium sharing for the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, and increases in the cost of prescriptions.
• Wage increases that are far less than the cost of living increases we’ve seen during the last contract, including raises that reward less senior registered nurses more than senior nurses.
• Decreases in RN staffing on certain census points within the bargaining unit.
We’ll keep you updated as we’re able.
Please spread the word to your colleagues about attending the urgent BAT meeting tomorrow from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church - Christ Campus (122 S Pennsylvania Ave.). Kids/families welcome.
